Connections Pastor
Bloomington

I think loneliness is one of the worst calamities in our world today; that's why I'm so passionate about connecting people and fostering authentic, "take-off-the-mask" relationships. As Hometown's Connections Pastor, I encourage strong relationships in our church and our Small Groups, and I champion communication and intimacy in marriages.

While studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, I experienced deep loneliness for the first time in my life and placed my faith in Jesus Christ. There, I learned that authentic connection with our Creator, God, and others is what truly brings depth to life. My education includes a B.S. in Geology and Spanish from Calvin College and a M.S. in Geology from the University of M.N.

After graduating, I worked as a groundwater geologist and actively served the Lord at church (where I met my bride, Sue). After going through our in-house pastoral training, I was ordained as a pastor in 1998. Sue and I have been married since 1992, have three adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and two wonderful grandkids.

If you're ready to connect more deeply here at Hometown, I'm eager to listen, help you plug in, and grow!
